Tenerife to La Gomera in one day, this is one of the most popular trips; La Gomera is the second smallest of the Canary Islands and it is only 30 Km far away from Tenerife; this makes it possible to take a day trip and explore the spectacular landscapes the island has to offer.
By ferry it takes only 50 minutes from Tenerife to La Gomera; therefore many people decide every year to visit this place. It is a very green island where only 22000 people live; the air is very clean and the pace is very slow and relaxed. It is a paradise for people who love nature, peace and incredible panoramas; in addition people call it “Christopher Columbus’ island” because the explorer stopped here for about a month on his journey to discover America in 1492.
So first of all, we pick you up by bus from your accomodation in Tenerife south around 7:40; then we take you to Los cristianos’ harbour where we get the ferry; as we leave Tenerife we enjoy a spectacular view of its western coast and of the majestic Mount Teide; in less than an hour we reach San Sebastian de La Gomera, the capital city. From here starts our excursion that will take you to see the most noteworthy and beautiful places; among these we find the canyon of Hermigua, the town of Agulo and the forest of Garajonay Park, UNESCO World Heritage Site; around midday we have a tipical lunch (included in the price) in a local restaurant; at the end you see a demonstration of the rather unique whistled language “silbo gomero”.
Along the way we stop in many panoramic viewpoints like Roque de Agando to take pictures and fully enjoy the amazing sceneries; the tour finishes when we get again to San Sebastian where you have free time for a coffee or to do shopping; we leave La Gomera around 17:00 so that we get back to Tenerife around 18.00.
